  • Condition: Set of 3~6.5" bread plates. A quick wipe down of all pieces I sell is done for pictures. A complete wash-down (wash) of item is left up to buyer. The plates have been well enjoyed by usage. You can tell in pictures. Still nice set. Unfortunately scratches do effect the picture on plates. But none of the burgundy or gold coloring seems to be scratched, chipped, peeling, discolored, cracked, or broken. And I see no stains on plates. See all attachments for details of condition.     Description

    Sebring Pottery Co. Serenade butter plates burgundy TS-284 C. D. Warranted 22 karat gold. Has a (two plates have a #6, & one plate has a #4). By close examination of the plates when flipped up-side-down, you can actually see very slight difference in the plates.   The center of plate is white with two early Victorian American woman enjoying a gentleman serenading them with a kind of banjo/ guitar. This plate measures approximately: 6.5" in diameter. Please read all of Description above for further details. Also see all attachments (might need to blow them up to see details). I noticed slight differences that you have to look at very closely to notice about all four plates.                                                                                                                                                                                                        Sebring Pottery Co. opened in  1887 in East Liverpool, Ohio in the old Anger & Gaston plant by Frank Sebring. One of the Ashbaugh's was a partner on the outset. It was ran by six Sebring brothers and two sisters. They moved to Sebring, on California Ave. and 15th Street between 1898 and 1900. Articles read of the Incorporation Field 08/03/1891. They manufactured white granite and other decorated ware in dinner and tea services. It was managed by Frank A. Sebring until the late 1920's or early 1930's. Part of the building was rented to the Stanford Pottery in the 1940's. The Sebring Container Company , also rented space in the same building. Back-stamps (on China ware) include: Jade Ware by Sebring, Trojan with an outline map of Ohio, Ivory Porcelain and Golden Maize, S.P. Co., Corinthian, Uncle Wiggly, Golden Ware, Sebring Pottery Co., Kokus China, Sebring Semi-Vitreous Porcelain and a crown, The Sebring Porcelain in script.
